Jesmonite is an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional resin-based products. It consists of a gypsum composite and acrylic resin polymer, making it a lightweight substitute to cast concrete. It is fire resistant and we seal all our pieces with a surface sealant to makes them UV resistant and help protect against heat and moisture.

Jesmonite has a stone like finish, we sand our pieces with a high-grade sandpaper grit to ensure the smoothest finish. This means our pieces have a smooth, almost soft feeling, matt finish.

It was important for me to use a versatile material that would allow me to create lasting pieces whilst being eco-conscious. Jesmonite was perfect! Jesmonite is considered an Eco-Resin. This is because it is a water-based compound that is solvent free and doesn’t contain any VOC’s which makes it much kinder on the environment.
